MAHKOTA PARADE KIDS FIRED UP ABOUT SAFETY ACCLAIM WITH SILVER AWARD WIN FROM ICSC ASIA

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Asia Shopping Centre Awards Ceremony in Singapore brought due recognition to Mahkota Parade, one of the premier shopping centres owned by Hektar REIT, Malaysia. Mahkota Parade held its own in the spotlight as a Silver Award Winner in the Community Relations category amongst prominent regional competitors from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, UAE, China, Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.

The one day Fire Kids Safety Workshop in co-operation with Malaysia Volunteers Fire and Rescue Association (MVFRA), focused on kindergarten and primary school children, aged 5 - 11 years old. It was a programme that was meant to provide educational fun for children on fire prevention techniques as well as survival methods during a fire. Children were put through a specially designed “smoke” house, and taught important skills, like how to unlock a padlocked window blindfolded.

Centre Manager of Mahkota Parade, Gloria Koh adds, “We are confident in our ability to create places people love to shop in and can keep coming back to, time and again.”

Following up from Subang Parade’s victory on winning the Silver Award for Design and Development category under 2008 ICSC Asia Shopping Centre Awards, the Group has once again proven its ability to be constantly enhancing their product offering, ensuring a quality shopping experience for their customers.

Mahkota Parade, with its ongoing refurbishment, will soon be transformed into another award winning shopping mall for the community at Melaka, Malaysia.
